I am eager to share my love of picture books, though it's difficult to type with my bear hands. My brain might be thinking, for instance, of the word magical, and my clunky little paws will type jmkgficsaslk. That is, unless I type very, very slowly and carefully. I have to pause. Or should that be I have two paws? (Spellcheck says they're both correct, maybe because they are both accurate. I must have a very good spellcheck program!)
Picture books have taught me so much about friendship and caring, creativity and dreams, bears, people, nature, and even life itself. These lessons all became a part of the bear I am today, and so did the loving feeling of snuggly, nuzzly storytimes. The Little Prince was so insightful, and I learned a lot, too, from Winnie the Pooh. Great picture books teach some of life's most important lessons (though most of us have to learn them again and again anyway).
My favorite book of all time is The Velveteen Rabbit. That was the story that first taught me about how love can bring someone to life. That seems to be true for people, too. For me, the illustration of that little fact has made all the difference.
